 Description

Victorian Ceylon sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.90 carats, surrounded by twelve cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 1.08 carats, further adorned by twelve round rose cut diamonds in rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats, flanked by four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.04 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.24 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring ornate diamond set claws, scalloped edging and open backholing, the carved diamond set shoulders with granule detail to the sides flowing to a D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1890, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78163-23.
