 Description

Edwardian sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a single marquise shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 2.80 carats, encircled by a single row of twenty-four round old single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.67 carats, further set to the shoulders, two round old single cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.08 carats in open back grain settings. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.75 carats, to an elegant marquise cluster design featuring polished edges, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, leading to smooth shoulders with engraved scrolling motifs, flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910, accompanied by a Gemmological Certification Services report #79234-49.
