 Description

Art Deco aquamarine and diamond brooch. Set with one central cushion shape scissor cut natural aquamarine in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 8.00 carats, set to top and bottom with two vertical bands of eight channel set rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a total weight of 0.80 carats, and set within an open horizontal rectangular frame set with sixty round old cut diamonds in open back millegrain bead settings with a total weight of 3.20 carats, the sides of the frame turning inwards and vertically crossed by two bands of ten channel set square step cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a total weight of 1.00 carats. The combined approximate diamond weight is 5.00 carats, to a geometric design openwork brooch with intricately pierced backholing, the reverse mounted with a hinged pin and locking clasp. Marked platinum and iridium, American, circa 1925.
