 Description

Ancient Roman 'EVT/VXI' gold signet ring. A yellow gold ring composed of a central raised oval plaque inscribed clearly to the center 'EVT/VXI', flanked by trumpeting sloping keeled shoulders, curving around to a solid shank conforming to the finger. Tested yellow gold, approximately 3.21 grams in weight, circa 2nd - 3rd century AD. This ring is in fine condition with an attractive patina.

This simple signet ring with angular features would have been worn as a first knuckle ring, designed to enable many rings to be worn at once as a show of wealth.
