 Description

Antique sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, surrounded by fourteen round eight cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats, further enhanced by four round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.04 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.64 carats, to a rectangular cluster with scalloped edging, millegrain decoration throughout, a curved openwork gallery and intricately pierced backholing, the slightly raised shoulders supported by chenier details, flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910.
