 Description

Antique diamond and gold brooch by René Boivin. Set with one round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with a weight of 0.10 carats, further set with eight round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.18 carats, to a circular openwork brooch, set centrally with a gold eight point star above a stylised florette form, each petal engraved with a flower, all above an openwork double honeycomb gallery, the reverse mounted with a hinged pin with scroll latch. Marked yellow gold with platinum settings, maker's mark for René Boivin, French, circa 1900.
