 Description

Edwardian Burmese ruby and diamond crossover ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.15 carats, diagonally set with a cushion shape old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.75 carats and decorated throughout with nine cushion shape mixed old cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.35 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.10 carats, to an elegant vertical crossover design with sweeping open work, intricately pieced collets, subtle millegrain detailing and fancy shaped backholing, the gently curving shoulders terminate at chevron details and feature ribbed decoration which smooths to a squared shank. Marked 18 carat gold with platinum settings, English, circa 1905, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #80264-02.
