Art Deco sapphire and diamond three stone ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.30 carats, flanked by two round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.60 carats, further set to the shoulders with six round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.80 carats, to a linear three stone design featuring millegrain borders, a decoratively pierced gallery displaying a scrolling motif and fancy open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders with openwork foliate motifs, flowing through to an engraved tapering solid shank. Tested platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-1548.
