 Description

Belle Époque ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set with a marquise shape old cut diamond to centre in an open back rubover millegrain setting with a weight of 0.50 carats, encircled by a single row of twenty five channel set square calibre cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back yellow gold rubover millegrain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.25 carats, further framed by a row of round eight cut diamonds in open back grain and millegrain settings, forty in total with a combined weight of 0.30 carats and further adorned by eighteen round rose cut diamonds in grain settings to the shoulders with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.88 carats, to an elegant marquise shape cluster featuring polished edges, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, flanked by ornate bow and ribbon motif shoulders to a solid ridged shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, French, circa 1905.
