 Description

Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.30 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese rubies in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats, further adorned by fourteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats. The total approximate ruby weight is 0.40 carats, to an impressive three stone cluster design featuring smooth borders, an intricately carved gallery with scrolling motifs and fancy open back holing, the broad integrated shoulders with ornate scrolling detail taper through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1890, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5784-0169.
