Cartier Burmese Sapphire and diamond earrings. A matching pair, each centrally set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in open back claw settings, one approximately 1.30 carats, the other 1.20 carats, each surrounded by six marquise shape brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings, twelve in total, with a combined approximate weight of 1.45 carats, each earring further set with eight round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings, sixteen in total with a combined weight of 0.95 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.40 carats to an impressive cluster design, featuring intricate open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinge clip, approximately 2cm in length. Marked white gold and platinum, numbered ‘T02507’, signed ‘Cartier’, Makers mark for Jean Claude Janot for Cartier. French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5784-2851.
