Celyon Sapphire and Diamond Ring, French, circa 1930.

Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with a cushion old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with a weight of 5.56 carats, flanked by eight step cut diamonds in open back channel settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.24 carats, further set with twenty-four single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.48 carats, to an impressive flanked solitaire design featuring curving claws, a pierced linear gallery and geometric open backholing, the broad integrated shoulders flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, French control mark, circa 1930, accompanied with SSEF report number 115515
