The firm of Child and Child was established in London in 1880 by Walter and Harold Child. Their first premises were located at Seville Street in Knightsbridge, then in 1891 at Alfred Place West.
They are particularly known for their enamelled Art Nouveau jewels, as well as platinum Edwardian designs, for which they were awarded a Royal Warrant from Queen Alexandra. The partnership came to an end in 1899, after which point Harold Child operated the business until it closed its doors in 1916.
