Colombian emerald and diamond earrings. A matching pair, each centrally set with an octagonal emerald-cut natural Colombian emerald with insignificant indications of clarity enhancement in a open back rubover setting, two in total, with a combined approximate weight of 1.60 carats, each surrounded by forty-four round brilliant cut diamonds, eighty-eight in total, in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.65 carats, to an impressive cluster design, featuring intricate open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinge clip and post, approximately 2cm in length. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, numbered '5696', makers mark 'MG' for Georges Merle, French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-2857.
