 Description

Emerald and pyrite snake ring. Set with one round cabochon natural unenhanced emerald in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.25 carats, further set with a pyrite cluster, to an unusual snake design depicting a serpent coiled around the cluster, its body heavily engraved with cross-hatching to replicate scales, leading to asymmetric shoulders and flowing through to a rounded solid shank. Tested yellow gold, French, circa 1960.

The emeralds are most likely to be from the Colombian mines.
