 Description

Gem set flower vase brooch. A platinum brooch in the form of a vase of flowers, the body of the vase set with one hexagonal carved rock crystal, further set with four oval carved natural unenhanced rubies in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 4.00 carats, decorated further by thirteen marquise shape old cut natural amethysts in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats, further adorned with ten round old cut natural citrines in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, all highlighted by forty eight round eight cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, all to a floral arrangement featuring polished borders, openwork details and open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinge pin. Tested platinum, circa 1935, accompanied by fitted red leather box marked 'By appointment to the late King George V/ THE GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY LIMITED/ 112 REGENT STREET, LONDON, W.1'
