 Description

Georgian Peruzzi Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring. Set with a cushion shape Peruzzi cut diamond with an approximate weight of 1.05 carats in a closed back silver cutdown setting, to an impressive solitaire design featuring polished edges, an ornate solid gallery and gardooned closed backholing, flanked by decorative openwork shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with silver settings, circa 18th century.

 Expert opinion

The diamond has been assessed by our in-house gemmologist to be approximately J-k colour, VS clarity.

 Comments

The Peruzzi diamond is an extremely rare cut which was first seen in the 17th century in Venice. This cut is credited for its cushion appearence and the first diamond to consist of crown, pavillion, table and culet.
