 Description

Marchak sapphire and diamond cocktail ring. Set with nineteen carved oval natural unenhanced sapphires in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 20.00 carats, additionally set with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.60 carats, further enhanced by twenty four round old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.75 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.35 carats, to an ornate assymetric cluster design featuring foliate carving, curving claws and open fancy backholing, leading to split openwork shoulders and flowing through to a ribbed D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, signed 'marchak PARIS', French, circa 1940.
