 Description

Mauboussin pearl, ruby and emerald cluster ring. Set to centre with a natural saltwater pearl in a half-drilled open back setting, approximately 9.2 x 9.3 x 7.7mm, further adorned with nine rectangular baguette cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back claw and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.90 carats, further set with one tapered calibre cut natural unenhanced ruby in an open back claw and rubover setting with a weight of 0.06 carats, decorated further with nine rectangular baguette cut natural emeralds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.65 carats, further set with one tapered calibre cut natural emerald in an open back claw and rubover setting with a weight of 0.05. The total approximate ruby weight is 0.96 carats, and the total approximate emerald weight is 0.70 carats, to an impressive cluster design featuring polished edges and curving claws, a structural gallery, and fancy shape open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, numbered '97931', indistinct maker's mark, signed 'Mauboussin Paris', French, circa 1970, accompanied by Laboratoire Francais de Gemmologie report #392464.
