 Description

Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set centrally with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.36 carats, flanked by eight round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.78 carats, enriched by a cluster of twenty two marquise shape brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 4.70 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 6.48 carats, to a magnificent three row oval cluster with an intricately pierced openwork gallery and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders leading through to a solid shank with fancy open ropework detail. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark "GPS", circa 1960, accompanied by Gubelin Gemlab report #11070101.
