 Description

Old mine diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond, L colour, VS1 clarity, with a weight of 2.23 carats, in an open back claw setting, encircled by eight round eight-cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.21 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.44 carats, to an impressive openwork cluster design featuring curving claws and intricate pierce-work, a decorative gallery with alternating motifs, and fancy shape open backholing, leading to raised tri-split shoulders terminating in ridged detail, and flowing through to a solid grooved shank. Tested platinum, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) report #6224830911.
