 Description

Oscar Heyman Brothers pansy earrings. A matching pair, each consisting of eighteen round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain and claw settings, thirty six in total with a combined weight of 0.82 carats, embellished with three round brilliant cut natural unenhanced yellow diamonds in open back rubover settings, six in total with a combined weight of 0.21 carats, decorated with six tapered baguette cut natural citrines in open back channel settings, twelve in total with a combined approximate weight of 2.89 carats, further set with nine tapered baguette cut natural amethysts in open back channel settings, eighteen in total with a combined approximate weight of 4.04 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.03 carats, to a stylized pansy cluster design featuring stepped petals, elegantly curving polished borders and intricately shaped backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure post and hinged clip fitting, approximately 2.2cm in length. Marked 18 carat gold with platinum settings, maker's mark for Oscar Heyman Brothers, numbered '705894', American, circa 1960.

Oscar Heyman & Brothers are known as the "jeweller's jeweller", and have created masterpieces from many of the renowned jewellery houses, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co. and Cartier to name a few.

The Pansy was first designed by Oscar Heyman & Brothers in 1930 as a brooch, and went on to become one of their signature creations. Between the mid-1980's through to 2000, it was produced exclusively for Tiffany & Co.
