 Description

Oscar Heyman Brothers pansy ring. Set with eighteen calibre step cut natural amethysts in open back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 2.87 carats to two petal shapes, with nineteen round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.92 carats to further petal shapes and one to centre, and three round brilliant cut natural unenhanced fancy colour yellow diamonds in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.09 carats, further set with fourteen step cut natural pink tourmalines in open back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.08 carats to a central petal shape, to an elegant pansy design featuring five elegantly curving petals, polished edges and intricately pierced open backholing, leading to split shoulders and flowing through to an intertwined solid shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum and iridium, maker's mark for Oscar Heyman Brothers, numbered '302129', American, circa 1940s, accompanied by Oscar Heyman Brothers authenticity certificate booklet with photograph, signed and dated July 2014.

Oscar Heyman Brothers are known as the "jeweller's jeweller", and have created masterpieces from many of the renowned jewellery houses, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co. and Cartier to name a few.

The Pansy was first designed by Oscar Heyman & Brothers in 1930 as a brooch, and went on to become one of their signature creations. Between the mid-1980's through to 2000, it was produced exclusively for Tiffany & Co.
