 Description

Pearl and black enamel memorial ring. Set to centre with an oblong crystal slice covering plaited hair in a closed back setting, encircled by a row of twelve natural half seed pearls in closed back grain and cut-down settings, to an intricate cluster design featuring polished edges and closed backholing, leading to a-symmetric foliate shoulders with black enamel detailing, and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank, engraved to the reverse of the bezel in cursive script 'Dear Lizzie died 18th dec. 1860.' Marked 18 carat yellow gold, indistinct makers mark, full hallmarks for London, English, 1854, accompanied by box.
