 Description

Victorian tourmaline, diamond and pearl pendant/brooch. Set with one central oval scissor cut natural pink tourmaline in a closed back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.00 carats, encircled by twenty round rose cut diamonds in closed back cut-down settings, further adorned with sixteen round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain settings and four round rose cut diamonds in closed back bead settings, forty in total with an approximate combined weight of 0.40 carats, further set with eight cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back cut-down settings with a combined weight of 1.20 carats, decorated further with eight natural pearls. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.60 carats, to a convertible pendant/brooch featuring stylised foliate motifs, openwork details and open and closed backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure removable hinge pin and scroll clasp and a secure bale. Tested yellow gold and silver, English, circa 1870, accompanied with a fitted box.
