 Description

Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with a cushion shaped old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with a weight of 0.75 carats, issuing twelve tapered french cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back channel settings with a combined weight of 1.00 carats, and further enhanced by twenty round old cut in open back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.00 carats. The total approximate sapphire weight is 1.75 carats, all to an ornate bombé cluster design with millegrain and openwork decoration, the pierced fancy backholing proceeding to finely engraved foliate shoulders and terminating in a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1920.
