 Description

Sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set with one central round old cut diamond in an open back millegrain rubover setting with a weight of 0.75 carats, surrounded by swirling design of six curved rays of twenty two tapered French cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back millegrain channel settings with an approximate total weight of 1.50 carats, alternated with six curved rays of thirty round eight cut diamonds in open back millegrain bead settings with a total weight of 1.00 carats. The combined approximate diamond weight is 1.75 carats, to a bombé cluster design, above an openwork gallery supported by cheniers, pierced backholing and on a D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1930.
