 Expert opinion

This ring has been assessed by our in-house gemmologists:

The emeralds are most likely to be from the Colombian mines.

 Comments

This ring would have been made in the USA, as it has been made from platinum and iridium, their traditional alloy of choice. The Austrian import mark for platinum (a butterfly with corresponding assay office letter below) shows that it was imported into Austria and marked at the Graz assay office, sometime after 1922, when this mark first came into use.

 Condition report

The ring is in excellent condition.
