 Description

Victorian citrine and gold brooch. Set with two matching round old cut natural unenhanced Madeira citrines in closed back rubover settings, to a highly detailed brooch with crescent shape decoration, with engraved floral motifs, granulation and wire work elements, suspending an articulated removable pendant drop, the reverse with an oval crystal covered plaque with scrolling hair beneath, inscribed in italic script ‘Given to C.E. Chubb by her Uncle Willder, 1866’, fitted with a secure hinge pin and hidden circular loop to top. Tested yellow gold, circa 1866.
