 Description

Victorian diamond pendant/brooch. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.35 carats, adorned further with sixteen round old cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, further enhanced with fifty round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats, decorated throughout with eight round eight cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.16 carats, set to bale with three round eight cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.13 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.94 carats, to a stylised floral design featuring a central circular plaque from which curved openwork petals radiate, polished and millgrain edges and ornately pierced open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure brooch bar fitting and C-clasp and fitted to top a hinged marquise shape bale, the fine trace link chain approximately 18" in length, pendant approximately 3.5cm. Tested yellow gold with silver settings, chain marked 15 carat yellow gold, circa 1890.
