 Description

Colombian emerald and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural Colombian emerald with negligible oil in an open back cut-down setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, further set with fourteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back cut-down settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats, further flanked by six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.18 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.78 carats, to an impressive coronet cluster design featuring polished edges and fancy open backholing, leading to ornate openwork shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and tested silver, circa 1870, accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #25175.
