After early success allowed them to buy out other firms in order to expand, as well as an incarnation another partnership, William Riker gained complete control of the business, with the addition of his sons, in 1864. The Riker firm is renowned for its fine craftsmanship, work in the Japanesque and neo-Renaissance styles, and their use of plique-à-jour enamel.
