 Description

Yellow Ceylon sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to center with an oval old cut natural unenhanced yellow Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.51 carats, surrounded by fourteen round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.70 carats, to an impressive elongated coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, leading to tri-split shoulders with fleur de lis detailing and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1900, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) report #5784-2109.
