 Description

Edwardian ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with four round old cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.20 carats, further set with twenty rectangular calibré cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 2.00 carats, further bordered by a single row of forty six round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.70 carats, to a rectangular cluster design featuring millegrain edging, a finely pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by split scrolling shoulders with foliate motifs and leading down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1905.
