The History of the Baguette Cut?

This cut features an elongated pyramid shape which transforms into a baguette cut when the pointed top half of the stone is removed to create a table facet. The baguette cut is the predecessor of the emerald cut and is ideal for cutting stones with elongated crystals such as emeralds, sapphires and tourmalines.
